Unexpected. Unplanned. You collide into me. You see me, and I see you, through the windows into your soul. Our inner worlds weave together as my story joins yours. However briefly I float up without gravity as you hold me down. Hand in hand. I hold you down too, from the gravitational pull of our upside down worlds. Forever in a way, fighting separation. You hold me entirely. I pass through you, and you through me, and I remember. Like a memory from a dream, I remember our complete oneness I had forgotten. Of the me as you and the you as me.
So quickly, it’s time to go. Selfishly, fighting the end of our time. I take some of you with me. Oh God what have I done. I have stolen your soul. What went wrong? Why did you leave me? I glance as your time line pours forward without me. Was all a lie? A mirage and a trick of the mind. I hate you so purely, you fucking traitor.
Until I notice you took a part of me with you as well. A soft touch. I remember your calm, peaceful eyes and you remember touching the scruffy brown hair on my head. As you drift further away and our rivers part, I move further down my own path, without you as well. My river flows and rejoins another as we travel downstream. Moving through space and time. Merging and parting as my path expands. I miss you so much it tears me apart. Your famished ghost lingers and sits on my shoulder.
I forget you, for now. Until I look through calm, peaceful eyes of another. I remember our time. I look upstream and see our connection, when my river merged into yours and we parted with shared waters. Like pouring God into God. Do you remember my brown hair when you see them? Below your conscious thought in that deep ocean of your experience. I know that you do.
When I miss you I look back on my past, and see my full river. The droughts, the floods, the joins, the breaks. Zooming out, with so many currents making up these oceans beyond the horizon. Far enough away there is no line between us. There never was. The join was once all encompassing, with no self to be. But I cannot see ahead, only the river journey so far, bending and turning, through slow and fast waters. Maybe our waters will meet again one day. I do hope so.
Farewell kindred spirit. To you, made up of all yours you were then. Maybe your yous become ours to our time once again. I will remember and I will find you one day, in this life or the next. But now I am back at home, at my place here and now. Thinking of you and our time spent together. I will always have space for you, here in my heart.
